Tips for public transport
-
Try to purchase your ticket before you travel. Many newsagents
or corner stores sell Met tickets.
-
If you purchase your ticket at the station you will need
$1 & $2 coins. The machines generally don’t accept notes.
-
Always validate your ticket before you get on the train.
Validating machines are usually located near the platform or station entrance.
-
When travelling on trams you may purchase a ticket from the
machine onboard. Coins only in these machines however. You do not
have to validate your ticket for this trip only.
-
When purchasing a ticket from any machine, simply select
the type of ticket you require first and put your money in last.
Tickets and timetables are also available from the Met
shop in Elizabeth Street in the City.
