As highlighted in our aims, Heartbeat Victoria is there to give support and reassurance to cardiac patients and their families. It also promotes friendship between ex-patients and carers through meetings and social activities and also assists in raising funds to equip cardiac surgical and recovery units.

By becoming a member you can interact with others who know what it is like to have a cardiac problem as well as providing support to hospitals that treat cardiac patients.

State of mind, both before and after a heart operation, plays a big part in the recovery process and encouragement and re-assurance from former heart patients can help enormously.

Members of Heartbeat recognise this need and are available to provide re-assurance to any patient or family member who may “just want to talk”. This often helps to take away any doubts and fears.
